The Dying Eagle design is based on the Flying Eagle Cent. This one-cent piece was designed by US Mint Chief Engraver James B. Longacre in 1856 as a pattern, or proof, coin. It was later issued for circulation use in 1857 and 1858.

Obverse design elements on Proof Zombucks Silver Dying Eagle Rounds, Longacre’s eagle eerily soars through the air in the aftermath of the zombie apocalypse. The bird has succumbed to the zombie hoards as its boney figure flies through the design with its dying feathers falling from its frame as it soars along.
